Ideas for a Living City
This competition challenges post-secondary students, as well as recent graduates, to take a green leap forward and imagine what it might be like to live in an ecologically sustainable city.
In 2008, half of the Earth’s population, and 80% of Canadians, will live in urban areas. Healthy, vibrant cities are only possible if people are engaged in transforming their urban communities into places where they want to live.
Solar powered buildings, hydrogen powered cars, urban forests, market gardens, reclaiming rivers and ravines, the city as a living ecosystem: you don’t have to be a scientist or a specialist to imagine the possibilities. Have fun, be bold, go crazy – for 60 seconds.
We are looking for silent 1-minute films, videos or animations that take a creative peak into the future of Toronto. Show us your green visions, hopes and dreams for a better future for the city.
This is a juried program. The work will be considered by members of Art for Commuters. Selected videos will be featured on IDEAS FOR A LIVING CITY, screening twice a year on the subway platforms of the TTC.
The best
2 shorts, as judged by Art for Commuters, will be awarded prizes, and will be re-screened at the end of the competition to highlight their awards.
PROGRAM CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. PLEASE CONSIDER SUBMITTING TO THE TORONTO URBAN FILM FESTIVAL.
