Show your photos on the TTC this May - to over a million people a day.
Submission Deadline: April 18, 2008

Make your submissions at www.contactingtoronto.ca

The 2008 theme is 'Memories for the City'.

We are looking for stories that take place on the streets of Toronto... love stories, playful stories, frustrating stories, stories of chance encounters or sad goodbyes.

This exhibition asks people to help create a collective memory of moments for the city, by sharing their stories or creating new ones. Submit a slideshow of photographs and share your story with the city.

The city can be as intimate as it is alienating. It’s a place where private lives are lived out in the public sphere: we are all watchers and watched in equal measure. The small stories of our lives pile up, and then disappear everyday under the weight of our routines. This is your chance to bring one of these moments to light.

It’s easy and free to enter – just upload a series of 5-8 photographs that tell a story you want to share with the city. We'll create the slideshow.

PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED TO THE TOP 3 PHOTO-SLIDESHOWS IN THE EXHIBITION.

1st Prize is a $1,000.00 gift certificate from Toronto Image Works
2nd Prize is a $300.00 gift certificate from Toronto Image Works
3rd Prize is a $100.00 gift certificate from Toronto Image Works

The submission will either be selected as a whole, or not at all. Every sequence of images that is selected will run as a 30-second slideshow, cycling throughout the day, for at least 1 day of the exhibition.

Curated by Sharon Switzer of Art for Commuters (art4commuters.com)

This exhibition is participating in Contact, an annual photography festival held throughout greater Toronto.

Submissions will be accepted through the new Contacting Toronto website until April 18, 2008. www.contactingtoronto.ca
